Privacy Policy
Through the following Privacy Policy we provide you with information on what personal data we collect when you visit our website https://www.ariel-h2020.eu and/or use our online services and how we utilize your data.
When users access our website, data such as the computer’s IP address, internet browser used, date, time of day and duration spent on the page is logged for a period of seven days. In principal, this data is only analyzed when technical problems or attacks on our webserver arise. We do not use analysis tools.
We in no way save or gather additional personal data through this website (such as names, addresses, telephone numbers or e-mail addresses) unless you provide us with such information (for example, if you get in contact with us, utilize registration forms for events and workshops) as well as in the context outlined as follows. Personal data you willingly provide (also in regard to required fields as part of your request) is treated confidentially, serving only to process your request and will not be passed on to third parties without your consent and/or your being informed in regard to that particular form. The website is hosted on an internal server of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR). HZDR is the coordinator of the ARIEL project and is also responsible for the ARIEL website.

Google Web Fonts
For a uniform presentation of fonts, for reducing server load and thus for a shorter loading time this website uses so-called web fonts that are provided by Google. When loading a page your browser loads the required web fonts in your web browser’s cache to correctly display texts and fonts.
For this purpose your browser needs to connect to Google’s servers. Thereby, Google becomes aware that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts occurs in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of the content of our website especially for the recognisability of our corporate identity. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f of DSGVO.
With regard to user privacy, Google itself writes the following:
Use of Google Fonts is unauthenticated. No cookies are sent by website visitors to the Google Fonts API. Requests to the Google Fonts API are made to resource-specific domains, such as fonts.googleapis.com or fonts.gstatic.com, so that your requests for fonts are separate from and do not contain any credentials you send to https://www.google.com while using other Google services that are authenticated, such as Gmail.
If your browser does not support web fonts, your computer will use a standard font.
For more information with regard to Google Web Fonts, please see https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and Google’s Privacy Policy https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Links to External Offers
We link to external websites and to social media providers. The connection is set up in such a way that no data is passed on to the provider of external offers when visiting our internet pages. When clicking on a link or button, you will, however, be sent directly to that external offer. These sites collect and process your data according to their own user guidelines and/or privacy policies, which you can view on the respective sites. We recommend that you read these policies before using the pages. We have no influence on how data is handled on external sites. Information regarding your rights and settings for protecting your privacy can be found in the respective privacy policies.
